Drive specialist NORD is known for its IE4 and IE5 motors, but it also offers reliable solutions for applications in lower efficiency classes. The new single-phase asynchronous motors from NORD not only feature a completely new design, they also have an increased energy efficiency class.

The new single-phase asynchronous motors from NORD are attractive to suppliers in the construction, food and agriculture sectors as well as amusement park operators, as the company has comprehensively upgraded its existing single-phase asynchronous motors.
Complies with IE2 energy efficiency class
The new single-phase asynchronous motors from NORD have the same power range as before, from 0.12 to 1.5 kW, but now comply with efficiency class IE2 of the Ecodesign Regulation 2019/1781. NORD replaced the previous mechanical relay with a new electronic relay, also upgraded the motor design and installed the capacitor in the junction box. As a result, the motors are now also IP66 rated and protected against dust and water.
“For simple applications such as mobile concrete mixers or pumps, our newly upgraded single-phase asynchronous motors are a cost-effective drive solution,” emphasizes Jörg Niermann, Head of Marketing at NORD. “In addition, the The motor is very practical and has passed the certifications of European CE standard, Chinese CCC standard and British UKCA standard, and can be used in many countries and regions around the world.”
